Feel free to contact our team for additional information about our quality products and projects we’ve helped push to completion for other clients. We’d be more than happy to assist you.

Is this real stone?
+

Yes. Our products are cut from a full-thickness natural stone. Natural Stone presents the colors found in nature and is color-fast and easy to maintain.

What is the weight of a square foot of stone?
+

A square foot of stone weighs about 12-14 pounds. Since the stone is saw cut thin, the weight is greatly reduced which will simplify the installation and makes our stone perfect to use where weight is a consideration, such as chimneys and eaves. As a rule, to determine the weight for an LTL shipment, multiply the total square feet and lineal feet times 15. This total will give you an estimated weight of the material to get a freight quote.

How thick is your stone veneer?
+

Approximately 1 ¼” to 1 ½” thick. The total installed depth is 2 – 3 ½” thick. The reduced thickness makes it easy for you to install our stone veneers using traditional masonry methods and perfect for interior or exterior application. The reduced weight of our stone (about 1/3 that of regular stone) will also decrease shipping cost.

How is your stone veneer installed? Does it require a water vapor barrier?
+

Please refer to our Installation Guide for answers to your installation questions. A vapor barrier is a must to prevent water from penetrating the walls.

How do I know how much stone should I order?
+

It is best to have a mason take a measurement. Otherwise, you can measure the square foot needed by measuring the length and width of the surface to be covered and multiply these figures to get an estimate of the stone needed. For corners, do a linear foot measurement running vertically. Allow a minimum of 5% waste factor when ordering stone for shaping and chipping to fit pieces. If using a dry stack installation, additional stone may be needed to cover the area.

Does your stone require a stone ledge for installation?
+

No, thin cut veneer is applied directly to the prepared wall surface. Follow the installation requirements.

How is your product packaged?
+

Our stone is packaged on wooden pallets. We have two sizes of pallets. We can package either 100 or 200 in a pallet and we place a layer of paper between each row to make sure that the stone quantity is correct. Our pallets are 42” x 42” and are stackable.

Are accessories available?
+

Yes. Refer to the Accessories page. If you do not see what you are looking for, please call our sales team to see if what you are looking for is available. Most accessories are custom cut pieces and may require a longer delivery time.

Why should I choose real stone over manufactured stone?
+

Real stone is time tested and has been used for centuries in construction. It resist fading and when chipped displays the color throughout the stone, whereas the manufactured stone is a product made of concrete with additives that may show a different color. Real stone adds value to the home and many homeowners associations and subdivisions now restrict use of the manufactured stone.

What is the price difference between real stone veneers and manufactured stone?
+

Price varies with the type of stone that you choose as some products have gone through additional steps to produce such as tumbled stones. Higher-end manufactured stone prices can be more costly than using the real stone veneers. It is important to check with the dealers and our sales representatives to give you an estimate on your project as the dollar difference may be very little and well worth using the real stone veneers on your project.

Can I create my own custom blends?
+

Yes! Please e-mail us a picture and we will do our best to blend the product to your liking. Many of our most popular blends, such as Tuscany Blend, have been created by working with clients.

Can you deliver to a job site and offload?
+

Real Stone Veneers owns a 45’ trailer and forklift/moffat for deliveries. Contact us to get a quote. We will need a delivery address and zip code to quote.

Can the thin veneer be installed over an existing brick fireplace?
+
